travel photo journal book - I took my Mom on a two week trip to Italy for her first time. We had a fantastic time and the experience impacted us both deeply. When we got back home she told me she felt it was a blur and couldn't remember details to describe to others. To help, I decided to make a book with our trip pictures, which turned into a very personal story about the journey we shared together.On our trip, I had written daily events in a little moleskin journal that I decided to use as a base to expand on. I scanned each journal page and combined it with photos and maps to visually describe the daily experiences I had journaled about. Every single day on our trip, my Mom would mention to me how very blue the sky was. The blue sky cover is a perfect reminder of her exclamations and the daydreaming we still both experience after returning home.

I asked my siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews to help create a book for my mom's 70th birthday. Everyone took pictures of their own profile and submitted a message for their mom or grandma. Each page of the book is my mom's child, son-in-law, or grandchild's silhouette and message.
